Dating back to his law school days as an advocate in “moot court”, this has always been one of Mr. Sutton’s favorite areas of practice. As indicated in the published opinions section, he has handled a variety of appeals over the years concerning many different areas of the law. He enjoys the challenge of legal research and writing as well as appellate advocacy.

He has appeared before the Oregon Court of Appeals, the Oregon Supreme Court, the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and assisted with a brief in the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Sutton has earned a good reputation in this area and has received referrals of appellate cases from other attorneys in Southern Oregon.
